1. Copy the connection URL

Both apps use the same MCP connection URL. MCP lets your assistant search this public archive and read the results. No EdVoice account or API key is required; the tools only read data.

2. Connect your preferred app

Connect to Claude

  1. Open Claude, then Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Enter EdVoice Data as the name and paste this connection URL:
    https://edvoicedata.org/api/mcp
  3. Choose No sign-in, add the connector, then select Connect.
  4. Start a chat with EdVoice Data enabled. Approve its read-only tools when prompted.

Tested in Claude. Connector availability and limits depend on your account.

CHATGPT.COM

Connect to ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT, then Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. Enable it to add a custom connection.
  2. Open Plugins → Browse plugins → Create app.
  3. Enter EdVoice Data, paste this connection URL, and choose No Auth:
    https://edvoicedata.org/api/mcp
    Review the custom-server notice, then create the app.
  4. In a new chat, type @EdVoice, select EdVoice Data, and ask your question.

Tested on ChatGPT Pro. You need an account with developer mode and custom MCP connections; free-plan access has not been verified. EdVoice Data is not yet in the public plugin directory.

3. Ask your first question

After connecting, copy this into your chat. Replace the topic with your own question.

Use EdVoice Data to find the rules about playground safety at schools. Read the complete relevant sections and cite official sources and the archive date.

Search covers the published Education Code, including all observed section versions. It does not include regulations, court decisions, or agency guidance. Your assistant should read complete provisions and follow cross-references before answering.
